Sunday Currently - Jan 31 v.41

It is the last day of January, where does the time go? I am hoping for a much better February. As I say, January was just a trial run and February is where my 2016 starts!

C U R R E N T L Y ...

READING: The Diviners by Libba Bray and The Acolyte by Nick Cutter

WRITING: This Sunday's edition of TSC

MUSIC: Song(s) of the moment - In The Night by The Weeknd and Out Of The Woods by Taylor Swift (yes, another painful confession)

LISTENING: To the television ... getting caught up on The X Files since I have no idea where I finished off and the new season started last week

GUILTY PLEASURE: I was REALLY bad with soda this last week. Usually I will have one or two throughout the week,  but I may or may not have went a little over board this week

THINKING: That I CANNOT WAIT for my new Alex drawers to be set up.

NAIL COLOR: Nothing right now,  however, I am thinking a shade of light/Tiffany blue for this week

DRINK: Decaf orange pekoe tea

FOOD: Haven't really had much to eat today

SMELLING: Laundry

HOPING: For a good week and to get back into the gym. I was honestly planning on going last night after work but it was SO busy (probably the busiest Saturday I have had) so by the time I was finished, I was exhausted.

TV SHOW: Still going strong on Law & Order SVU but now I'm also starting back from season 1 of The X Files and attempting to watch AHS Asylum ... just need to take a month off of work haha, I wish!

WEARING: Jordan sweatpants and Nike hoodie

LOVING: That I was able to get my Alex drawers and room rearranged. I outgrew my current vanity and wanted a change in my room so I researched vanities and came across two from Ikea - Malm dressing table and Alex drawers. I decided to go with the drawers and tabletop because there was more space to put things. I figured with the Malm dressing table, I could fill that drawer pretty quickly and then I would be back at square one. So ... my dad and I rearranged my room the other day and I am loving how much more "room for activities" I have. Now we just need to get the drawers set up and add that to my room and the majority of things will be done.

WISH LIST: For the ONE promo on Sephora to be restocked so I can place my order! Ugh, so frustrating

NEEDING: To get back on track

BLESSING: Everyone and everything that I have in my life

FEELING: Mass lazy today ...

CLICKING: Keyboard

EXCITEMENT: Probably goes hand in hand with what I am loving

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday and an even better week!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday and welcome to another edition of FOF. For any newbies who want to join in (which I highly suggest :) ) all you have to do is write about five random things that could have happened throughout the week or just five random thoughts about anything. Use the logo in this post and join the link up and you're good to go.

ONE
Yesterday was a day for the books, I guess. Barbie came out with three new dolls with three different body types - tall, petite and curvy. In my opinion, this is GREAT because as we all know we're not all stick thin doll figures and I am a big advocate for positive body images. Could they have done a better job on the curvy doll, probably, BUT, it's a step in the right direction.

TWO
Any one else use the Virtual Artist on the Sephora app/website? DON'T. When you're finished, you'll be wanting to purchase their entire lipstick stock and you're bank account won't like it haha. All you do is take a photo of yourself and you can see what you look like with all the different shades of lipstick. After using it, I am now IN LOVE with certain shades of purple!

THREE
Went to Ikea yesterday and bought a new vanity/dresser set and I cannot wait to set it up! The decision was between the Malm dressing table and the Alex drawers. The Malm table was beautiful but I have a feeling after a while the one single drawer may become too small. The Alex drawer set however, has more drawer space and looks just as nice. Supposed to be going through and rearranging my room later this afternoon and hopefully get it set up soon. Ahhh, so excited. PS - Don't mind the purse haha

FOUR
If any of you are a looking for a good make up primer, look into using Nivea After Shave Balm. Yes, it is a product for men, however, it is slowly becoming the holy grail of primers. One of my friends posted a photo the other day on IG stating that and I knew my brother had some, so ... tried it ... YASS!! It works WONDERS. The only that I usually use leaves my face feeling so heavy and I have difficulties sometimes getting my makeup to apply correctly, but with this, none of that. AND, it actually does work. I don't need to fix my makeup at all throughout the day and work. Bea-you-tea-ful!

FIVE
Came across this the other day and it could not be more true right now.

What's your FOF? :)

Tumblr

I was never really into tumblr until I read Abigail Breslins book "This May Sound Crazy" .. which you need to do.

Bored out of my mind and wide awake when I have a hair appointment in 5 hours, I decided to create one and give that a try. Like I need something else to do ...

I'll be writing my SWW post later in the day : )

Sunday Currently - January 24 v.40

First SC post of the new year .. only, there isn't a link up and I'm not sure why. I love linking up with different bloggers, especially for this post. Oh well, just because there isn't a link, doesn't mean I can't share with you guys.

 C U R R E N T L Y ....

READING: The Diviners by Libba Bray

WRITING: This Sunday's edition of TSC

MUSIC: Song(s) of the moment - Beautiful Drug by Zac Brown Band

LISTENING: To the television

GUILTY PLEASURE: Dad's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies AND I had my very first Beechwood donut the other day

THINKING: That I am ready to get back into the gym. If you haven't read my post from Friday, I injured myself last Saturday and I have been off work for the week but, unfortunately, heading back tomorrow (hopefully!) which means I can slowly start to incorporate the gym again. Honestly, I haven't been the gym in probably a month, ever since the week of Christmas. This month hasn't been the greatest from the flu to this injury so I am definitely looking forward to that

NAIL COLOR: Last weeks color was Domestic Goddess by Sephora by O.P.I

DRINK: Decaf orange pekoe tea

FOOD: Haven't eaten yet today but going to try and find something in the this house to make for dinner

SMELLING: Nothing

HOPING: For a full 100% recovery in the next few days

TV SHOW: I cannot stop watching Law & Order SVU ... something happens between Benson and Stabler, right?! And I watched season one of Schitt's Creek and I must say, it was pretty good

WEARING: Pajama pants and a hoodie

LOVING: That I get to relax later and take my Sunday bubble bath and face mask. I've decided that every Sunday (since I am off) I am going to take some time later in the evening for "relaxation time" which will consist of a bubble bath and maybe a face mask. Today I am going to try the Origins Clear Improvements Charcoal mask.

WISH LIST: For the Smashbox Master Class palette

NEEDING: To do SO MUCH laundry ... ah, maybe Wednesday. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing that I can like a week or so without doing laundry .., I mean, I don't own THAT much .. do I?

BLESSING: Everyone and everything that I have in my life

FEELING: Tired

CLICKING: Keyboard

EXCITEMENT: For my two orders to come in!! I ordered a make up organizer and brushes from Amazon and the Smashbox #Shapematters Palette from Sephora. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

What's on your Sunday Currently list?

"Making it up"

I've never really been the kind of girl to wear make up. I HATED it when I was younger because of dance and cheerleading. Throughout high school up until now, I've always been a foundation/concealer/mascara and away I go kinda gal. However, working on ships, I was able to "expand" a little for elegant nights. Having a roommate who was really into it helped as well. Now that I am at home, I miss it. Hence my newest and probably worst addiction. It also doesn't help Sephora is a 5 minute drive from my house.

You saw the haul I made a week or so ago but I ordered the Smashbox #Shapematters palette .. SO EXCITED. I've been keeping my eye on their contour palette because I've wanted to try that technique for a while now. I also thought of dabbling in the eye shadow area as well. I was debating on whether or not I wanted to purchase their contour palette and the UD Naked2 palette .. AND THEN ... I found this 3-in-1 palette for way less than both. It has your brow contour, face contour and 12 different eyeshadows. Yup, couldn't resist.

Once I get the package in the mail, I'm sure I'll be writing ALL about it. I also used my points for a "They're real" sample kit. I've had my eye on their mascara as well so thought why not, didn't cost me anything. Just ONE of the many perks of Sephora.

Write soon,
S.

Five on Friday

First FOF post of the new year .. heck, first POST of the new year. The holidays were so busy for myself and family and I don't know where time has gone, I just haven't found the time to sit down and write a post. There were days where I said to myself that I should sit and write a post and never did.

Anyways .... linking up with A Liz Adventures for this Friday's edition of FOF. Are you?!

ONE
I don't know about you, but this year/month hasn't been that great for me. I was sick with the cold/flu for almost a week and a half ... was okay .. then BAM, injured myself. I spent last weekend in the hospital with severe pain in my chest and of course, one doctor says this, another says that. However, bottom line, I someone managed to tore/rip my muscles around the rib cage and because I didn't know I kept moving and injuring it further. I've been off work for a week and can't go back until Monday. Hopefully I'm better by then because I NEED TO GET BACK INTO THE GYM. Between the holidays and this "sick month", I haven't stepped foot in the gym for way too long now.

TWO
One of the things I decided to do for the new year was create a goal board and quote chalkboard. I wanted to have a chalkboard wall but the walls in my room are not a flat service so I decided to make a board instead. My goal board obviously has things on there that I would like to accomplish this year ranging from eating healthier, reading more, auditioning for things to being more grateful. My quote board I change every Sunday with different quotes "for the week". I think both these boards are great ways to stay on track with my motivation for building a better me all around.

THREE
I had my VERY FIRST Beechwood donut yesterday. For those of you that are not familiar with this place, they are a small bakery located in downtown St. Catharines that makes gourmet donuts. Their flavours are always "different" ranging from macha green tea, french toast or candy cane during the holidays. I had the pleasure of having their chocolate chip cookie dough. WOW! Now I see why people wait in line (the truth!) for these things. And, these donuts are somehow vegan, not sure how they do it but they do.

FOUR
Ventured down to Mapleview Mall a week or so ago with my brother as I have never been. Yes, I know, SHOCKING, that I have never been to a mall. I would have to say it was a successful trip. Sephora was the main store I wanted to stop at, even though we have one at the mall here (BAD, BAD thing!). My #SephoraHaul included:
* BareMinerals Stroke of Light Eye Brightener
* Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage
* Josie Maran Argan Enlightening Illuminating Veil
* Origins GinZing Eye Cream
* Sephora Overnight mask
* Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask
AND with my BeautyInsider points * Marc Jacobs Mascara
I have yet to try any of these products because I've been at home injured so there hasn't been a need to wear makeup. When I do try them, I will for sure let you know how they are.

We also stopped at Kiehl's and let me tell you, I am FALLING IN LOVE with their products. I purchased their Rare Earth Clay Pore Scrub and was given samples of their Midnight Recovery Concentrate and their Tumeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask. I am DEFINITELY purchasing their Midnight Concentrate ASAP because it is absolutely amazing. Before bed, after washing my face, I used about two-three drops and in the morning my face is so soft and doesn't have that "tired" look. Their mask was amazing as well. If you haven't tried any of their products, just walk into a store and talk to someone and they will give you samples. They may be a little pricey for some people but it is definitely worth the price. I have recently discovered that when it comes to skin care, sometimes taking the "cheaper" route isn't necessarily the better idea.
PS. Also made a stop at Zara !

FIVE
34 days until Fuller House - just saying!

What are you five things this Friday? : )
